🔗 A study in Nature Communications, helps explain why: storytelling is a powerful means of fostering social cooperation and teaching social norms, and it pays valuable dividends to the storytellers themselves, improving their chances of being chosen as social partners, receiving community support and even having healthy offspring.

🔗 The tales (or lore) carried lessons about social cooperation, empathy and justice, and many taught sexual equality too.

🔗 Specifically, the lore we speak of is a body of traditions and knowledge on a subject which is held by a particular group, typically passed from person to person by word of mouth.  These lore were vital to the tribes and played a great part in understanding the values & traditions many still uphold to this day.  Lore tends to exist in cultures with long and complex histories,  Therefore peoples indigenous to a land, hold the LORE and their wisdom should be considered sacred.
