Treat others with respect : Engage critically with ideas--not individuals. Assume others are coming in good faith.  Open-mindedness is a gift. So is kindness.
Be concise: Consider what the central ideas of the message you're trying to get across are. What's the most effective way to get there? Brevity and clarity are wonderful skills. Sharpen them.
Listen: It's hard to listen when you are talking, or thinking of a response.Walk into every conversation open to the idea that you'd be willing to change your mind if presented /w the right facts or arguments
