THE LIBERTÉ EGALITARIAN CLUB 
 LEC is an exclusive freespeech society. Our 3 central cardinal tenets are Liberté (Free Speech), Egalité/Egalitarian (Equality) and Fraternité (Club). This forum is the perfect place for anyone and everyone who believes in this basic ideals and values.

 Liberté refers to liberty. It is the inalienable human right to universal freedoms- the freedom of speech, freedom of expression and freedom from oppression. In this club, everyone has a right to free speech and free expression of their ideas even if they stand alone. However free speech will not be condoned as an excuse to promote generalised/targeted hate speech, crime, violence or bigotry against any group of people.

Egalité/Egalitarian refers to Equality. This means in this club, every human being is equal and deserving of dignity, honour and respect. Nobody is above anyone else in any way, form or manner. Every person here is welcome regardless of gender, colour, race, sexual orientation, religion or any other human descriptions/affiliations.

Fraternité refers to Fraternity/Club. This means we are a family. And as such every member/follower of this great club will be accorded respect, honour and dignity by everyone else at all times.

This is a space for people to meet for a wide range of engaging, intellectual and fun conversations.
 
This club has people from across the world. We have a culture that encourages openness and diversity.
 
Our mission is to ensure respectful, tough, unconventional, thought provoking, yet intriguing conversations. As your mental health is very paramount to us, if you enter a room that is quite heavily charged, it is advisable and understandable if you choose to leave for a while and return anytime you are up for the conversation.

The club name was inspired by the French Revolution. We welcome you! Pls invite your friends too.

WE ENFORCE CIVILISED SPEECH/CONDUCT.: You must speak to people with respect, honour and dignity. You can address what a person has said and critically analyse it but NO personal attacks, NO personal insults and NO curses are acceptable.
WE RESPECT ORDER AND SPEAKING QUEUES.: In the Liberté Egalitarian Club, we have speaking queues. Pls do NOT interject people when they speak. Let the person finish making their point, then flash your mic to join the queue so as to respond.
WE DO NOT ATTACK THE MODERATORS.: As a club policy, LEC Moderators will NOT be taking any position when moderating sensitive/serious conversations. This is to ensure objectivity, fairness and impartiality to all sides of the debate.
