The podcast explores the sex and porn-positive movement through conversations centered around the adult film industry, and the wider market of services and products associated with ‘in-door’ sex work. We address topics relevant to the production and consumption of pornography.

The program features interviews with producers, performers, sexperts, legal experts, social scientists, policymakers, educators, advocates, and mental health practitioners invested in promoting evidence-based discourse at the nexus of sex and sexuality and health and safety in adult entertainment media.

The Hosts:
Abby Somers (she/her) & Dr. Jordan (he/him)

SW.h was co-founded by intimacy expert & adult film actress Abby Somers and Dr. Jordan Schaul, a health science educator. 

Ms. Somers is a mom of three young adults and was a corporate sector manager before becoming an adult film actress. Dr. Schaul is the founder of the trauma-informed relationship and family systems consultancy Scapegoat Strength. 

Jordan is also the founder of Schaul PR Group, a branding and publicity firm, which caters to cause-oriented mainstream entertainment industry professionals and entrepreneurial thought leaders.

The pros & cons of porn consumption

Thirty-five percent of all internet downloads include pornographic content. In the US, approximately 28 million men and 12 million women regularly consume internet pornography. Of those, 200,000 people are classified as having porn addictions.

While pornography can be detrimental to society, porn consumption can have educational value and a positive impact on sexual health and well-being. According to a Harvard Medical School study, which appeared in a 2023 article published in the journal Family Medicine and Community Health, porn consumption “may aid in adolescents’ sexual development and enhance sexual relationships as well as knowledge.”
