I am an đşđ¸n (âAmericanâ) of Asian and European descent currently creating English as a Second Language (ESL) pedagogical materials and advocating for hostages âespecially my compatriotsâheld captive in đŽđˇ (âIranâ). Essentially stated, I support regime changeâshort of military interventionâinside the Islamic Republic of Iran and the majority of Iraniansâ right to exercise their popularity sovereignty and eventually chose a new republic or constitutional monarchy for themselves. At some undetermined point in the future, I intend pursue graduate and doctoral studies in Arabic, Aramaic/Syriac, Hebrew, and cognate languages as an aspiring Semiticist (a scholar of the Semitic peopleâs history, languages, and cultures) to create ESL pedagogical materials for speakers of living Semitic languages. Furthermore, I eventually hope to create new cross-Semitc language pedagogies. Plus, I also aspire to assist my fellow Filipinos and Filipino-Americans in restoring our historical use of the Arabic-based Jawi alphabet to write our various Austronesian languages and our unique dialect or register of Spanish to utilize alongside our own pre-Hispanic Baybayin scriptsâof course. My worldview is informed by the âJudeo-Christianâ (sic) canon of the Holy Bible as a born again âď¸n (âChristianâ) identifying with: a. the Reformation and post-Reformationâs philo-Semitic Hebraist and Christian Restorationist (i.e., earlier Christian Zionism) traditions b. (what some now term) âReformed evangelical catholicismâ (sic). Although I cannot help but just âpontificateâ my worldviewâespecially from my motherâs perspective, I graduated in 2019 from the University of the West, a Buddhist affiliated institution. On the day of my commencement ceremony, I gave a rather secular undergraduate valedictorian commencement address on the necessity of applying a secularized version of the Buddhist doctrine of duhkha for a happier and saner life. My mother was proud, yet my address was absolutely informed by my understanding of Qohelet/Ecclesiastes 2:22-23, unbeknownst to her.
