Activist My name is French Demeanor CEO and creator of Shades of Brownz designs apparel that showcases the different shades of melanin beauty in an artistic form. My inspiration for my apparel collection was cultivated by black cultures’ experiences of a recurrent distraught reality we face as people of color. Dealing with the aftermath of the assassination of George Flyod , Mike Brown, Trayvon Martin, Breonna Taylor, Eric Garner, Sandra Bland, Mike Ramos, Jamarri Tarver, Tina Marie Davis & many other African Americans, Mexicans, Hispanic, & indigenous people who weren’t televised, influenced me to capture the different shades of “ brown” that we’ve lost to unfortunate circumstances. Shades of Brownz’s platform will be used to open programs for persons of color, who are interested in learning about fashion, music, beauty, and financial literacy.
