Turner was born in Southampton County, Virginia around 1800. He was a deeply SPIRITUAL man who believed that God had called him to lead Hebrews (bka Negros) in America out of slavery. The Southampton insurrection is often considered the most effective slave rebellion in the South. Turner's story was told in The Confessions of Nat Turner, which was published in 1831 ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽🧠💪🏿
