After working as Project Manager at Microsoft, Boeing, AT&T Solutions, I've gone back to my true passion; storytelling. I'm a Historian "forced" to learn how to make film after I discovered 12 min of footage shot inside my great-uncle's B-29, shortly before they went MIA over Tokyo in early January 1945. I had been curious about this story as a kid, having found a photo in my grandmother's cedar trunk, which my mother and her siblings only spoke in hushed tones about. On my 11th birthday, I was given 2 history books with this same photo in it. Excitedly, I plopped it down in front of my grandmother, whose brother was in it. She flipped out, and the very traumatic reaction made me quite curious. I have diaries, letters, vet interviews; a mountain of primary research. The story drove me to my undergrad / grad work in History. To be able to tell the story properly, I also got degrees in English lit, and psychology. In 2008, I found the 12 minutes of film mentioned above. I knew I couldn't only write a book, and set about learning to write and produce films. I called my classmate, who - with his sister and father - had gone through the process to get their book, "Band of Brothers" turned into the series. I'm currently working with numerous retired USAF Colonels and Generals whose relatives were involved in the storyline. I am traveling the US researching in archives, writing, and interviewing WWII vets before its too late. I gathered a team, got in a real B-29 and did this proof of concept: https://youtu.be/DaMsW8IAPB4 Www.linkedin.com/in/mjmikelson
