Michael Johns is a conservative thought leader, policy expert, strategist, communicator, and activist. He has served as a White House presidential speechwriter, a Heritage Foundation policy analyst, and a senior aide to both a Republican U.S. senator and governor. During the Cold War, Michael was a leading proponent of the Reagan Doctrine and visited regularly with U.S.-backed anti-communist resistance forces in Angola, Cambodia, Nicaragua, and elsewhere that played a vital role in America's ultimate Cold War victory. Following the Cold War's end, Michael managed global program development at the U.S. government-supported International Republican Institute (IRI), where he developed and managed programs to cultivate democratic institutions in nations seeking constitution-based representative democracies and the protection of human and civil rights. In the U.S. healthcare industry, Michael has served as vice president and a member of the executive management team of a Fortune 1000 NASDAQ-traded company and in other management capacities in the industry. In February 2009, Michael was one of several co-founders of the U.S. Tea Party movement, which has blossomed into the largest independent grassroots political movement in American history. The Tea Party movement has been the primary force behind Republicans winning the U.S. House in 2010, the U.S. Senate in 2014, and in bringing a more populist orientation to today's GOP. In June 2015, Michael was one of only a handful of national political leaders to endorse Donald Trump for president. He has been a consistent public advocate for the Make America Great Again (MAGA) policy agenda.  Michael is the author of The U.S. and Africa Statistical Handbook, multiple book chapters and academic papers, and has written for The Wall Street Journal, The Christian Science Monitor, National Review, and other media. He also appears regularly on U S. and global television and radio networks. Michael holds a Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Miami, where he majored in economics and graduated with honors. He also studied abroad at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom. Michael was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
