Hi my name is Karla, I’m a vegan artivist, nature whisperer and lover of all things wild. 🌳✨ I am here to support the awakening of our nature bond, to spread a message of living in harmony with all Earth’s species, and to help grow dreams rooted in our own healing 🐬✨ My mission is to advocate for the healing of our world and create a regenerative society in which everyone is treated with dignity and respect 🙏✨ My background is a blend of science and art: after formal art education I delved into the sciences with a BS in Geography, and in 2012 I earned a Master of Science in Environmental Studies degree from Ohio University. My experience includes internships with the US EPA drinking water division, AmeriCorps service focused on coal mine watershed reclamation work, community stewardship organization in Ohio and encouraging mindful and integrative outdoor recreation as a form of eco education. Fun side fact: I have also worked for a steel company and greatly value this experience as opening my eyes to the depth of injustice within this industrialist complex. My roots are in art 👩‍🎨 and in 2017 I began a new chapter as an independent artist, after working both as a graphic designer and co-owning an online shop making posters of the US national parks. It was a bison 🦬 in Yellowstone and a year of travel through US wilderness which inspired me to follow the path of artivism, my true calling. I started making art about our bond with nature and animal / eco rights while volunteering on an organic farm in Cyprus, in the Mediterranean 🐠🌴✨ Since 2017 I’ve created and donated my work to non profit groups such as Surge Activism, the Sierra Club, and facilitated individual healing through personal art commissions focused on spiritual topics. This work also includes leading guided meditations and taking part in talking circles. In 2021 I closed my art business to open the most powerful path of my life yet: to cycle around the world as an artivist on two wheels, joining my equally artistic partner Steven on a mission to inspire worldview shifts for the animals, ourselves and this beautiful planet we call home. Along the way we are collaborating with non profits and creating art to educate and raise awareness through the magic of creative expression 🌍🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️🐷🐋🦉✨
