Professor of ancient Greek and Roman philosophy, occasional poet, and incurable nerd. Here to enjoy good conversation, share my insights and knowledge, and acquire knowledge and new perspectives from others. Special expertise in early Greek thought, Plato, Aristotle, Stoicism, Locke, Kant, Rand, philosophy of science, philosophy of biology, and philosophy of religion/theology. I have also taught a lot of ethics and metaphysics. I have interests in other areas of philosophy, psychology/psychotherapy, history, comparative mythology, biblical criticism, and poetry. I geek out on improv, comic books, scifi/fantasy, D&D / RPGs, tabletop games, and miniatures among other things.
