Disclaimer: Nothing that I say or write or that appears on the Inlet website or in emails should be taken as medical advice. Our patent pending app/system that detects foods linked to increases in heart rate is available for beta testing. Www.LinkedIn.com/in/JoyceWaterhousePhD Founder and CEO of Inlet Health. Get on the list for updates at our website www.inlet-health.com As a result of my own health journey. I am passionate about optimizing health and well-being. I am also interested in sustainability related to diet and lifestyle and improving health in low income people Our approach is aimed at enhancing wellness, resilience and performance and reducing stress, including stress reactions to foods. I have a PhD from University of Tennessee, Knoxville and bachelors in Biological Sciences from UC Irvine. I also did research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Our app improves upon the approach of Arthur Coca MD, author of The Pulse Test. Dr. Coca was a prominent immunologist of the 1930s and 1940s who was the founder and longtime editor of the Journal of Immunology — A PDF of this book for the general public is available free online. It is called The Pulse Test. He also wrote a scientific book and articles and his method was supported by research of others including Ettelson et al https://www.jacionline.org/article/0021-8707(61)90005-3/pdf This work may be especially important considering that longevity has been shown to be strongly associated with resting heart rate. The work of Dr. Coca indicates that food reactions can influence resting heart rate significantly.
