~hello! I’m a writer/director and award winning filmmaker. I am developing a feature film /series from the Tribeca Premiering, award winning, short film The Parker Tribe. The film is based on my childhood. I was one of 7 children, two of my brother had and passed away as a result of Duchenes Muscular Dystrophy. I was also the only gay child and understanding how I would be seen as the oddball in a very strange and funny family made for a very interesting and fun childhood. I wrote a memoir, “Nobody Ever Dies When I’m Around: a lifetime of feeling left out.” I wrote a young adult novel called Something Only We Know, an lgbt novel. All of these projects seem to focus on grief, loss and death. From that I launched a podcast called “We’re Dying Here,” with comic Micah Sherman. We talk about death and dying but in a funny way. I am interested in supporting research in childhood cancers. My son had Hodgkin Lymphoma when he was 5. He’s healthy and a pain in my butt now. I’m interested in supporting research for MDA which my brothers had. I’m interested in supporting Camp Sunshine. A retreat for families dealing with life threatening illnesses. www.theparkertribe.com www.weredyinghere.com ~Writer/Director The Parker Tribe ~Co-Host We’re Dying Here Podcast about death and dying but in a funny way.
