Transqueer Activist | Latinx Scholar | Public Theologian 🏡 I moved home to the South in 2017 & launched my scholarship as a Collaborative Project enfleshing the name Activist Theology Project. ☝🏽 ATP is dedicated to cultural & social healing through public theology initiatives. We work in the borderlands spaces of church, academy, & movements for justice. 📚I’m also an author and published Activist Theology (2019) with Fortress Press. Body Becoming is forthcoming (2022) with Broadleaf. 👨🏽‍🏫 I’m trained as a constructive philosophical theologian & philosophical ethicist & spend my days contemplating making a profound break with the dominant system. I was once described as one who does meta-ethics, like Judith Butler. And! I’m committed to translated theory to action in real ways! I am on faculty at Duke Divinity School & teach in the areas of queer theories, theologies, & ethics. “So much of the work of oppression is about policing the imagination,” Saidiya V. Hartman. 🏳️‍⚧️ I am Trans, Queer, & Latinx, and each of these inform my scholarship & praxis.
