It's always been about Africa. I grew up in the UK in an immigrant community that came from the Caribbean Island of Jamaica. I was raised by my community, entered a notable school and during form 3 History class, the story of the slave trade was brought to my attention. This provided a light bulb moment as I immediately saw where I came from and where people like me featured in global history narratives. I have pursued my African origin and heritage ever since. I am an Arts Manager with years of operating in the African Visual Arts space as a published author, researcher and consultant, art curator, gallery owner, museum administrator and manager, events organiser, artist promoter and I have 16 years experience as the Executive Director of the National Gallery of Zimbabwe under my belt. I have dwelt in the creative space for over forty years and pursued my own Art practice exhibiting locally and internationally and even have work in the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Zimbabwe. My experiences have imbued me with extensive knowledge of the continent and the African diaspora and has made me an avid student of Arts, Culture and Heritage. I have participated in various platforms;  ·Representative for Southern Africa in the World Craft Council  ·Former Education Officer of the National Gallery of Zimbabwe ·One of the founding members of the Observatory for Cultural Policies in Africa ·Member of Council for the Great Zimbabwe University ·Served on a number of boards in Media, Arts and Information as well as a local bank ·Currently acting chairperson on the Board of the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe and the Women University in Africa. My services include; ·research and writing to promote established and emerging artists ·Curating exhibitions and events ·Coaching in the area of Arts practice, promotion and impact for the individual artist and artistic fraternity ·Corporate Art Collection consultant and management ·Online workshops I am a seasoned Artist, Strategist and Fundraiser with interests in home making, fashion, mixed farming and the great outdoors. I am a mom-preneur with three amazing adult children and six talented and cute grandchildren.
