I was born in Prishtina, Kosova where I have written and directed fiction films and documentaries while studying for film and later working with local film production companies. In 2008 I got admitted at the Film Graduate Program at Tisch School of the Arts – NYU, where I was awarded the Deans Fellowship. My short film “Gjakova 726” (co-directed with Artan Korenica) screened at Rotterdam Film Festival, Busho Film Festival – official selection, Doku Fest - official selection, Toffifest - official selection, Filmmor Women's Film Festival - official selection; documentary “Mirror, mirror...” was officially selected in Sarajevo Film Festival, New York International Independent Film and Video Festival, Tirana International Film Festival 2006; Balkan Black Box Film Festival, Berlin, 2006 ; Short - “Lena & Me”; Screened and awarded at: First Run Film Festival 2011; Dokufest 2011; Skena Up 2011; Tirana International FF 2011; Pogradec Food and Film Festival 2011' 911 Film Festival 2012- Best actress award. In 2011 I returned to Kosova to continue working on films and freelance for different film production companies in the position of co-producer, production manager and 1st AD. In 2020 I finished my first feature film “HIVE”, which I have written and directed based on a true story. HIVE screened at Sundance Film Festival 2021 as part of World Cinema Dramatic Competition and made history by winning three awards, Grand Jury Prize, Best Directing and Audience Award. First film to win all three awards in this competition at Sundance.
