Why aren't we drifting more often Isn't that what the mind yearns When did routine shackle us down That feeling we d routinely love to spurn Keep trudging on that path, surfing that tide, soaring with that draft For the shackles are imaginary....the yearning real ******Room:The Echo chamber decimation project******* What follows is a summary of the fantastic discussion : ( Neutral news can be found at ; >Substack >Revue >www.improvethenews.org ->an MIT project ) FOR clubhouse being the solution: > Not ‘hit and run’: Longer time span to flesh out views(as opposed to 140 chars or sound bytes) > Not a curated audience: Random sample of the population as opposed to curated viewpoints > Showrunner neutrality: Moderators play an important role in neutrality - essentially the editor. Also should shut down voices that are abusive! >Curiosity: Can drive attention to contrarian debates? > Acknowledge extremes, cater to the middle: We only care about the huge middle part of the spectrum that craves for a balanced debate >Numbers for participation: A critical mass for participative groups- gets unwieldy after 600-800 people? Becomes another personality driven ‘talk at you’ channel if the app becomes too big AGAINST clubhouse being the solution: > Algorithm inclusive?: Does the clubhouse algorithm already do what big tech news algos are striving for and not just recommending one side of the spectrum rooms? > Splintering of audiences: of rooms into groups after an initial meeting of minds
