He has developed over 90 pilots, presentations, scripts, or formats including Reality Series, Award Shows, Talk Shows, Event Specials, Feature Docs, and Live Events. Austyn currently serves as Head of Unscripted at Get Lifted Film Co. where his projects include the docu-series Atlanta's Missing and Murdered: The Lost Children (HBO), Rhythm & Flow (Netflix), 40 Years a Prisoner (HBO), Giving Voice (Netflix), A Crime on the Bayou, and most recently, Legend of the Underground which premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival and is available on HBO Max. Get Lifted Film Co. is led by Emmy® and Tony® Award-winning producer Mike Jackson, EGOT recipient and award-winning producer John Legend, and CEO of Friends At Work, Ty Stiklorius. Before joining Get Lifted Film Co in May of 2019, Austyn was a consulting producer on the hit E! series Very Cavallari and Supervising Producer on CMT’s Racing Wives. He has served as an In-house Executive Producer at MTV, LOGO, & VH1.where he was Executive Producer of MTV’s 90s House. From 2008 to 2016, he was Sr. Director of Development for BET Networks. Originally from Nashville, TN, Austyn has called Atlanta, New York, and London home before settling down in Los Angeles. Before his TV/Film career, Austyn served four years as the volunteer coordinator for several of the AIDS WALK events across the country. He continues to volunteer with LGBTQ+ organizations that provide a safe living environment for young queer people. He is also a strong advocate for animal rights and encourages everyone he knows to rescue their next pet.
