Anne is an experimental atomic physicist working to develop clocks and sensors based on atomic systems. She is currently employed at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), the UK’s national metrology institute. There she is developing next generation optical atomic clocks for optical frequency metrology, including efforts towards the redefinition of the SI second and for high-precision tests of physics beyond the standard model. Anne is a lifelong musician, currently enjoying choral singing and playing in a jazz “big band” in London. She also wishes she had much more time to devote to cooking.
