Dr. Romero-Calvo is an assistant professor at Georgia Tech's Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering. His research explores the use of electromagnetic actuation mechanisms to control multiphase flows in microgravity and partial gravity. Dr. Romero-Calvo approaches the study of low-gravity fluid mechanics from an analytical, numerical, and experimental perspective with the goal of developing next-generation spacecraft fluid management technologies. Applications span from life support to in-space propulsion and include phase separation, cryogenics storage and transfer, propellant slosh damping, SmallSat propellant management, boiling and condensation, water electrolysis, and carbon dioxide reduction, among others.
