He used his faith, talents, tenacity and determination to resist the lure of the streets and live out his dream. After attending Chicago's first, public, performing arts school, Chi-Arts, John studied in New York City and fine-tuned his skills at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. There, he majored in film and television and graduated with a 3.5 GPA. John discovered his passion for acting at the tender age of 10, when he landed a leading role in Dr. Lydecia's stage play, Chosen Vessel. His stage credits include: Marvin's Room, Twilight Los Angeles, Much Ado About Nothing, Othello and film credits include: Until the end of time , Of Boys & Men and Infatuation, to name a few. Winning scholarships and awards for his work has afforded John some wonderful opportunities. The most memorable of which, is performing on Broadway at the August Wilson Theater! John won this honor after being one of three regional winners and going onto compete in the nationals of The August Wilson Monologue Contest. Most recently, he had the rare opportunity to perform stand-up comedy at Broadway Comedy Club and Comedy cellar : the same stages shared by comedy greats. John also released two popular songs across 150 streaming platforms, under the artist name 95savant “Just give me a try” and “I just wanna live”. John’s latest single topic is on social injustice and racism. John Edward Carter is looking forward to a lifetime of other remarkable moments in his beloved career as an entertainer.
